A glimpse on the greatness of the first Friday night of the month of Rajab/ Lailat al-Raghaib, the night of wishes or eagers!?

We hope that in Lailat al-Raghab our eagers will be in harmony with our fears; fear from God's wrath and glory, and be eager to God's love and beauty; Raghbat means eager, not wishes, Lailat al-Raghab does not mean the night of wishes, but the night of eager and tendencies and being fascinated,...

We hope that in Lailat al-Raghab our eagers will be in harmony with our fears; fear from God's wrath and glory, and be eager to God's love and beauty; Raghbat means eager, not wishes, Lailat al-Raghab does not mean the night of wishes, but the night of eager and tendencies and being fascinated, therefore, that attraction and tendency called Raghbat antonym of Rahbat. Allah Almighty has heavens that he has encouraged us to and he has a paradise for our souls that he has encouraged us to go to.

Rajab is the month of God; It is a blessed month which many special prayers and Duas and actions are mentioned to perform.

We should wash ourselves in the pure sea to become clean and purified. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever fasts one day in the month of Rajab, Allah will be pleased with him, and God's wrath will be turned away from him, and one of the doors of Hell will be closed on him.

The night of the first Friday in the month of Rajab is called Lailat al-Raghaib. On this night, the angels descend on the earth, so for this night. A prayer mentioned by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), which has great reward, and its customs can be found in the Mafatih Al-Junaan.

Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, according to this importance, considered Lailat al-Raghab as the night of eagers and stated in one of his series of Akhlaq lessons, "We hope that in Lailat al-Raghab our eagers will be in harmony with our fears; fear from God's wrath and glory, and be eager to God's love and beauty; Raghbat means eager, not wishes, Lailat al-Raghab does not mean the night of wishes, but the night of eager and tendencies and being fascinated, therefore, that attraction and tendency called Raghbat antonym of Rahbat. Allah Almighty has heavens that he has encouraged us to and he has a paradise for our souls that he has encouraged us to go to."

The author of Tasnim commentary, by mentioning the various eagers on this night, pointed to the success of attaining physical heaven and spiritual heaven on this great night and said,

This is stated in the last part of the blessed Surah "Qamr"

﴿إنَّ الْمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ ٭ فِی مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِیکٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ﴾ this means pious have heaven which described جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ﴾ the heaven of body and flesh. It has physical pleasures like river of hony and water and milk and Khamr; the four river of heaven. But there is another heaven for our soul and it is not brought up together; Quran did not use "and" for mentioning it with the pervious kind but it said, ﴿إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِینَ فِی جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ ٭ فِی مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِیکٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ﴾ did not said «و فی»  but said﴿فِی مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِیکٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ﴾. That heaven is four our souls to be with Allah. The middle pious people in the Laylatu Al-Raghaeb want ﴿جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِی مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ﴾. Extraordinary faithful people in addition to ﴿جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِی مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ﴾ they eager to reach ﴿فِی مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِیکٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ﴾. So, Quran says ﴿وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ﴾   there are two heavens for them; the bodily and the soul heaven. There are bodily pleasure and the soul pleasure. Insha'Allah in the Laylatu Al-Raghaeb we reach this eager. God forbid if someone crippled with fear, he would have to hell. The hell that burns bodies and it mentioned in Sura of Nisa ﴿کُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَاهُمْ جُلُوداً غَیْرَهَا لِیَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ﴾. This hell burns skin and the body and there is a spiritual torment which hurt the soul. ﴿نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ ٭ الَّتِی تَطَّلِعُ عَلَی الْأَفْئِدَةِ﴾

You know, Disgrace and dishonor are the torment of the soul. the burning of the skin and the body is the torment of the body. ﴿لَهُمْ خِزْیٌ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَلَهُمْ فِی الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِیمٌ﴾ Disgrace is a painful inner punishment. the two parts are related to fear, which we should be fearful and evasive from. the first two parts are related to our body and soul, which ﴿وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ﴾ is related to our eagerness. Insha'Allah we are eager to reach to them

Therefore, Laylat al-Ragheb can have a variety of interests and many stages ahead of you, which, insha'Allah, on the first Friday night of the blessed month of Rajab, all of you will have that success, both physically and spiritually.
