Esra NEWS Agency: The weekly ethics lesson of Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli was held this week at the Azam Mosque of Qom in with the presence of various group people.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli explained 116th wisdom (in some versions wisdom 122nd) of Nahj al-Balaghah in this meeting.
His Eminence said, “The wise and enlightening words of Nahj al-Balaghah is: «وَ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَضْحَكُ، فَقَالَ: كَأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ فِيهَا عَلَى غَيْرِنَا كُتِبَ، وَ كَأَنَّ الْحَقَّ فِيهَا عَلَى غَيْرِنَا وَجَبَ، وَ كَأَنَّ الَّذِي نَرَى مِنَ الْأَمْوَاتِ سَفْرٌ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ إِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ، نُبَوِّئُهُمْ أَجْدَاثَهُمْ وَ نَأْكُلُ تُرَاثَهُمْ كَأَنَّا مُخَلَّدُونَ بَعْدَهُمْ، ثُمَّ قَدْ نَسِينَا كُلَّ وَاعِظٍ وَ وَاعِظَةٍ وَ رُمِينَا بِكُلِّ فَادِحٍ وَ جَائِحَةٍ.». (122. Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, was accompanying a funeral when he heard someone laugh. Then he said : Is it that death has been ordained only for others? Is it that right is obligatory only on others? Is it that those whom we see departing on their journey of death will come back to us? We lay them down in their graves and then enjoy their estate (as if we will live for good after them). We have ignored every preacher, man or woman, and have exposed ourselves to every catastrophe.) Death is one of our most complex issues and until we know life, we cannot know the truth of death.”
He said, “Life is one of the most unknown mysteries, the meaning of which is not clear for us. some people define life by the origin and source of knowledge and practice. This is the farthest limit and custom of life, which neither its genus nor its definition is known, and If we do not know life, we will not know the meaning and truth of death either.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said, "Death is the best advisor of human beings «كفى بالمَوتِ واعِظا» (“death is adequate as advisor") and therefore the Imam here said to the person who laughed at a funeral, do you think that death is only for others?! One should get conscious at the funerals attends and believe that death is for everyone.”
He stated, “Death is not the end of life, but death is the essence of life. Death is not the end of movement, but the fruit and result of movement, and since death is the essence and result of human life, then, O, man, accept the advises and live in such a way that you should not carry a burden on your shoulders. Don't let someone else put a burden on you, don't accept oppression and don't go under the burden of oppression, don't stab anyone in your life, don't say bad words, don't talk unnecessarily, don't take someone's property, don't take someone's honor, always Be correct both for yourself and for others.”
His Eminence stated, “Hell is brought by the person himself; we don't have firewood in hell other than embezzlement and its likes. The firewoods of hell are the same criminals ﴿وَ أَمَّا الْقٰاسِطُونَ فَكٰانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَباً﴾ this Ayeh taught Ferdowsi(The Persian poet lived in 10th century) and he said:
«اگر بار خار است خود کشته ای ** اگر پرنیان است خود رشته ای»
“If there is fire, its what you have brought**if it is a silk cloth, you have made it”
Death is the essence of life not its end. The juice made of a fruit is not the end of its tree but the essence of its works”
He stated that if someone is in love with this world, his eyes and ears will become blind and deaf, “Love is one of the purest words and when the Howzeh does not go towards these words, this pure and holy word will be used by others. «أفضَلُ النّاسِ مَن عَشِقَ العِبادَةَ» "The best of people is who love worship more" means that a person should love to worship. Amirul Momineen says that people there are three categories of people who worship, some worship in order not to go to hell, some worship in order to go to heaven, and some worship because of love and the friendship of God, they worship him. The most virtuous people are those who love worship, such a person always tries to benefit the people and others are safe from his vice!”
