With regard to the holy month of Rajab, numerous instructions and orders have been recommended (by the Divine source). These months of Rajab and Sha'ban are for the purpose which man could be one of the invited guests of the sacred essence of God, as He is such a host who welcomes his guest with the utmost honor.

These supplications (during these months) are supposed to be a two-way hosting and hospitability, not being a one-sided guest.

A one-sided guest is when a person goes to the land of revelation through Hajj or Umrah, when he arrives there, then he is one of the guests of the Absolute-Merciful. Or he enters the blessed month of Ramadhan, in which he is considered one of the Dhuyuf al-Rahman (The guests of Merciful God); In the blessed month of Ramadhan, in terms of time, he is the guest of God, and in the land of revelation (Mecca and Medina), in terms of place, he is God's guest. But they have told us that you should also make God your guest (and be His host)!

Well, let us be God's guests, according to these traditions that during Hajj and Umrah or during the blessed month of Ramadhan, Hajis and pilgrims or fasting people are considered as guests of the the Absolute-Merciful (Dhuyuf al-Rahman). But what does it mean that God would be as our guest?

(First:) What do we have to invite him as a guest? (Second:) and when will he be as our guest?

He said this (answered the above questions) in a Holy hadith (Hadith Qudsi): "I am with those whose hearts are broken." Which means that God the Almighty is the guest of broken hearts, and God accepts that brokenness, that poverty, that submission, that humility, that pure servitude (as a way of hospitality from His servants).

God is with everyone (as He states): “And He is with you wherever you are”; But the fact that he said: "I am with those whose hearts are broken," He is with such a person with attributes of mercy, forgiveness, being Coverer and Forgiving, being Compassionate, with these attributes He becomes the guest of man.

These supplications of the months of Rajab and Sha'ban are meant to make a person worthy to be a guest of God and at the same time, to make a person worthy to be the host of God.
