Esra NEWS Agency: The weekly Akhlaq session of Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli was held this week at the Azam Mosque of Qom in with the presence of various groups of people.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli explained the 126th wisdom of Nahj al-Balagha in this meeting.
His Eminence said, “The word of His Holiness is «عَجِبْتُ لِلْبَخِيلِ يَسْتَعْجِلُ الْفَقْرَ الَّذِي مِنْهُ هَرَبَ وَ يَفُوتُهُ الْغِنَى الَّذِي إِيَّاهُ طَلَبَ، فَيَعِيشُ فِي الدُّنْيَا عَيْشَ الْفُقَرَاءِ وَ يُحَاسَبُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حِسَابَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ؛ وَ عَجِبْتُ لِلْمُتَكَبِّرِ الَّذِي كَانَ بِالْأَمْسِ نُطْفَةً وَ يَكُونُ غَداً جِيفَةً؛ وَ عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ شَكَّ فِي اللَّهِ وَ هُوَ يَرَى خَلْقَ اللَّهِ؛ وَ عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ نَسِيَ الْمَوْتَ وَ هُوَ يَرَى [مَنْ يَمُوتُ] الْمَوْتَى؛ وَ عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ أَنْكَرَ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُخْرَى وَ هُوَ يَرَى النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى؛ وَ عَجِبْتُ لِعَامِرٍ دَارَ الْفَنَاءِ وَ تَارِكٍ دَارَ الْبَقَاءِ».
He said, “The enlightened statements of the imams have several sections. Some of them are related to the principle of calling for a good deed and avoiding a bad deed. It is not only commanding one thing and forbidding another thing, without mentioning its benefits and harms. some other hadiths which are known as the causes of the Shari'ah, in which if something is ordered, the merits of it are also mentioned, and if something is forbidden, its evils are mentioned. Some other hadiths, in the order they have also mentioned the rewards and punishments of actions by doing or forbidding another action. There is a series of things that are analysis, they have said that what is commanded causes the greatness of the soul, and what is prohibited causes descent and humility of souls. So, sometimes moral teachings are accompanied by analysis, sometimes with instructions, sometimes with mention of rewards and actions!”
His Eminence stated, “There is a scientific and essential difference between "Wonder" and "Arrogance". wonder is a perceptual matter and wonder is an emotional and moral matter. Arrogance is absolutely bad, but wonder can be good or bad. We have both reprehensible and praiseworthy. Sometimes people look at the divine signs with wonder, and in this way, they know Allah's teachings better and get the better understanding of divine signs. That wonder is praiseworthy. On the other hand, sometimes a person who is used to ugly things, used to ignorance, is surprised by reason, justice and monotheism. This surprise is reprehensible!”
He said, “sometimes a person is surprised to see a good manners, good opinion and good morals due to his association with bad manners, bad opinions and bad morals. Sometimes it is another kind. There are Hadithes that many people are ready to give money to buy slaves, but they don't use ethics to buy free people. They don't use ethics to make the society attracted to them, while all people like someone who is polite and has morals. He doesn't go astray, and blocks anyone’s way. Society respects him and are interested in him!”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stated, “In this words, Amirul Momineen analyzes a series of moral issues, like “I noticed that some people want to avoid an ugly act, they seek refuge in the trap of an even more horrible act. This is the analysis that if someone was stingy, he would escape from a small well but fall into a bigger pit. Hazrat says, I wonder why they do these things. if you are doing this to escape poverty, you will be in a worse danger. «عَجِبْتُ لِلْبَخِيلِ يَسْتَعْجِلُ الْفَقْرَ الَّذِي مِنْهُ هَرَبَ وَ يَفُوتُهُ الْغِنَى الَّذِي إِيَّاهُ طَلَبَ» I am surprised by a stingy people because they want to escape poverty. such a person is living in poverty, because he does not know that this is not the way to avoid poverty. If he wants to have a good future, he should give away to get ten times in reward. If a person is generous, it is just because he is sure that what he gave would be replaced, like the water we take from the river and it will be filled immediately! Hazrat also says in another Hadith: one who believes in God's reward is generous in giving.”
He continued, “Hazrat Amirul Momineen then said: «فَيَعِيشُ فِي الدُّنْيَا عَيْشَ الْفُقَرَاءِ وَ يُحَاسَبُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حِسَابَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ»؛ This person is a person who lives in poverty in this world, and in the hereafter, would be accounted as rich and wealthy. The late Kilini says, the rich enter heaven two centuries later than the poor, because they have to be accounted for their wealth.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said, “Amir al-Mominin continues his speech by saying, "I am surprised at the arrogant man, while he was a sperm before and tomorrow, he will be nothing more than a dead corps, and I am surprised at the one who sees the creation, observes order he does, but he doubts the existence of the creator and moderator. And I am surprised by those who do not think about what happens after death. Is man like a tree that turns into firewood after death, or like Is it a bird that is freed from the cage by death? If it is a release of the bird, we must know where we are going to go after this world! I am surprised by those who see the dead and forget death. What we are told that visiting graves is rewarding, not only for our departed, but also for the pilgrim himself, because the reminder of death is one of the best advices. I am surprised by the one who saw and sees the first creator and denies the Day of Resurrection. And I am surprised by those who are all trying to build the house that will crumble but he destroying the house that will last forever, while if there is no Hereafter, this world would be a game in vain, and God says that we, who created the world, are not a gamer, no game can fullfill anyone’s need. we created this world and we are not a gamer.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, at the beginning of this session, advised the people to read the supplication of Istiqsa (Asking Allah for the rain) in the “Sahifa Sajjadiyyah”, and prayed that these supplications will be answered by Allah -Inshallah- with the blessing of the pure blood of the martyrs.
