The most important message of Movement of the leader of the Martyrs is that we should not neglect the two cultural and social elements of guiding and supporting of the people.

On the dawn of thought; The flourishing of intellect in the light of Hosseini’s movement:

Guidance and support of people

One of the most palpable messages of Ashura is self-sacrificing of our precious life for the guidance and support of people. It means that the leader of the martyrs sacrificed what he had in order for the human society to be monotheist and to think divinely.

Allah has explained the essence of this fact in the Qur'an when he explained Prophets' lives. The prophets received and acted on this perception and this message, and the heir of the prophets also received and acted on this message.

Hussain bin Ali (peace be upon him) is the heir of all the prophets, and in his Ziyarat (peace be upon him), we introduce him as the inheritance of the prophets; Because he tasted the bitter sufferings of the past prophets and continued the struggles of the previous prophets and tasted the success of the heavenly leader in his life; he inherited the bitterness and sweetness of the predecessor prophets.

... therefore we recite in the Ziyarat of that Imam: «السّلام علیک یا وارث آدم... یا وارث نوح... یا وارث إبراهیم... یا وارث موسی... یا وارث عیسی ...»

So, the most important message of Seyyed al-Shahda's movement is that we should not neglect the two cultural and social elements of guiding and supporting the people, and this work was not specific to Hossein bin Ali (peace be upon him). With these two central elements, His Holiness(PBUH) brought men and women, both old and young, to Karbala to prove that where there is a place of understanding, there is a responsibility of support and guidance. Everybody, whether men or women, whether young and old should take steps to guide the society on the one hand and to support it on the other hand.

🔹 The leader of the martyrs summarized the important part of his speeches in these two key elements. On the day he talked with Muawiya, he talked about guiding the people and supporting them. After the martyrdom of Hasan bin Ali (peace be upon him) and the imposed peace which was not a compromise, but a total loss, the Umayyad court established a covenanted governorship for Yazid. Then Hussain bin Ali (peace be upon him) gave two messages: one about the guidance of the people, the other about the supporting of the people; As and when Mu'awiyah died and Yazid came to power, he openly announced these two messages of guidance and support to Yazid's official representative in Medina.

Also, on the way from Madinah to Makkah, sometimes his Holiness (peace be upon him) gave a speech and sometimes send couriers and write letters, and in all these directions, guiding the people and supporting them were the main subject. Also, in Makkah on the eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, when everyone was going to the land of Arafat, his Holiness left for Iraq, and when he traveled the distance of three hundred miles between Makkah and Karbala, he gave messages and gave speeches, the subject of all of them was guidance and the support of the people. This shows that the message of Ashura is a live, up-to-date and universal message that everyone can understand and think according to the guidance of Hossein(peace be upon him).
