Esra NEWS Agency: Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's weekly Akhlaq session was held this week at the Azam Mosque of Qom with the presence of various group of people.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli explained the 117th wisdom of Nahj al-Balaghah in this meeting.
He said, “The blessed existence of Hazrat Amir (may God bless him and grant him peace) said in the hundred and seventeenth wisedom of Nahj Al-Balaghe: «هَلَكَ فِيَّ رَجُلَانِ مُحِبٌّ غَالٍ وَ مُبْغِضٌ قَالٍ. »"; About me, Amir al-Mu'minin, two groups perished: those who indulged in friendship and gave me authority that is not compatible with serving Allah. These are ignorant friends who exaggerated. Second, there are the enemies who believed I am blow the conventional Muslim position. These are the jealous enemies.
He said that there are few people who know me in the central core of justice and these two groups perished. of course, there is a third group who are moderate and think justly and did not know me out of servitude of Allah, but they call me pure servant of Allah; and things like it”
He stated, “The secret of this is that the central core of justice is necessary both in belief and in morals and attributes as well as in personal and social relationships. Therefore, this central core is referred to as the direct path and this direct path is in beliefs as well as morals and attributes and in personal and social relationships.”
He said, “The relationship with Allah is both direct and close. This divine path is straight. There is no distortion in it, and if someone enters this path, he will definitely reach his destination and he will definitely see that purpose in that destination. Also, it is also short. Me, Us, thinking of our ignorance as knowledge, that little knowledge we possess as a huge treasure and be proud, is pure lust; The straight path is both direct and close. If he is closer to us than the cord of a vein, then the way is not far. If he is «أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيد» it is more accurate to say ﴿وَ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَ قَلْبِهِ﴾. There is no obstacle between us and ourselves, is him. So, it is not far.”
He continued, “What make near path, far; one. What makes this straight and easy path crooked and twisted, I mean, distortion of the path (2), is pure lust. Lust does two things: first, it shows the far way and says who can travel this way. Second, it shows wrong ways.”
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stated, “An enlightening statement in the Qur'an said, ﴿ما فَرَّطْنا فِي الْكِتابِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ﴾ Nahj al-Balagha and other words of the infallible imams are a detailed description and explanation of the Holy Quran. said: «الْيَمِينُ وَ الشِّمَالُ مضلّة»Left and right are misguidance«وَ الطَّرِيقُ الْوُسْطَی هِيَ الْجَادَّة» If there was no overspeed and no over slowness, and if there was no east and no west, and if there was no this and that, then the lustful human would understand well where this path would lead. «وَ الطَّرِيقُ الْوُسْطَی هِيَ الْجَادَّة» If this middle road is the straight path, it would convey two messages: one is «خَيْرُ الْأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا» Now we have found the way, let's not get separated from this way«خَيْرُ الْأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا» Another thing is that if someone stayed in this straight path for many years, and he knew the way, and he marched directly in that way, he would be advised to «خير الأمور أشدها و اکثرها و اوفرها و اعلاها». It is better to go faster in this way; go further!
he said, “one may not know the boundaries of the straight path, he goes to extremes and have deviations; he forgives more than he should and or he would not forgive when he should. We advise such a person to balance his actions «خَيْرُ الْأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا». A person should not give away all his property, nor should he be deprived of the necessary forgiveness. It is the same in other works as well. It is the same in worship. But when he himself became the straight path - like the imams, peace be upon them, who are the "measure of deeds", if someone reaches that high position and becomes the straight path himself, from then on, he would not be advised to«خَيْرُ الْأُمُورِ أَوْسَطُهَا» he would be advised to «خير الامور اشدها و اکثرها و اعلاها.». If someone gives away all his possessions, this is an excess; But you see, Imam Mojtabi (peace be upon him) gives away his wealth, this is not excess, this is not extravagance, because he is the straight path to the truth and he knows what he is doing. Does a person give away all his property? Isn't this wasteful and trespassing? No, because the straight path, does this.”
Steps to follow the straight path.
In describing the familiarity with the straight path and following it, he stated, “If we want to understand the straight path, there are several ways that the Holy Quran has stated. First, a person must migrate from scientific theoretical ignorance to theoretical knowledge, from practical ignorance to practical reason, so he gets to the way. Now that he has migrated and entered the road, he must go through this road. When he wants to go this way, then he would be advised to go faster, speed up. The field of the competition is heaven and earth; The direct path is that wide! If someone wants to go ahead of others in the field of moral virtues, the field of competition is as wide as the width of the sky and the earth. When he sped up and didn't crash and sped up properly, after emigrating and speeding up, he would be advised the third chapter: ﴿فاسْتَبِقُوا﴾! Why don't you get ahead of others!? overtake! That is an honor! Whether it is in Martyrdom or in other virtues, such as a person who is on the straight path does not see anything but Allah, speed is not enough for him, but he should be like the verse ﴿فاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ﴾.
He continued, “After the course of the competition, which has now become the pioneer, ﴿وَ اجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَاماً﴾ Oh Allah! You have given me the blessing to reach this place where that I will not block anyone's path nor go astray. Give me the blessing that I will take on the leadership of some people and some people will follow me. What will happen? This is not for this world; Not that I invite these people to praise me, I invite them to worship you. I live in a way that when people see me, they see the right path. did not say«و اجعل لنا من المتقين اماما. » O, Allah! Send us an imam! Those imams (peace be upon them) have their own place and there is no doubt about it. But this is social imamate, that I become other’s imam. Why should someone else become my imam?! This is a good thing to ask Allah to nurture us in a way that in my city, my neighborhood, my village or my region, everybody follows me in the right path, everyone follows me, that is not bad that it is not a lust for fame. This is like the levels of heaven one would ask from Allah.”
He said, “It shows out that the way is open. This is not overstepping; this is not exaggeration; This way is open for everyone. If this way was not open for us, the Qur'an would not teach us that. When this is reachable, it is very low to see those other ways. This person is not happy because people follow him, he is happy because the people of his place, village or city or country are fond of piety. It means, I lived in a way that people say piety is a good thing, politeness is a good thing, everyone became polite; This is a good position. He said ask for this; But from the other side, it has been said to us that the world is such that if someone goes to it, he will fall headfirst! He said, "We will lift you so high and lift you up, then we will throw you from there; There is a big difference between these two.”
He said, “Therefore, one stage is that exaggeration is bad. unnecessary extremeness! A person should be careful with his tongue, his pen, his step. Second, seeking a high place in society is perfection and a good thing. We are order to recite this prayer and ask from Allah ﴿رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْماً﴾. With this Islamic manner, the more knowledgeable a person becomes, the humbler he becomes, and the more precise he becomes, the more sensitive he becomes. in the decrees and enlightening statements of Hazrat Amir (peace be upon him), there are two orders: avoiding extremeness, in both less and over acting and the Holy Qur'an also introduces itself as the reincarnation of justice.”
