The mourning ceremony for the martyrdom of the leader of the martyrs, Aba Abdallah al-Hussein (AS) will be held in the first decade of the month of Muharram, with the speech of Hojjat al-Islam wa Musalmin, Professor Morteza Javadi Amoli discussing the "Hossein's Movement; Universal and Human Truth", in the Hedayat Mosque of Amol.
Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Morteza Javadi Amoli, in his speech on the 11th night of Muharram, stated that we should learn from Ashura, and said, “If a nation did not have this Karbala movement, it would not have had the Ashura uprising, it would not have that guide. Nonetheless, we have that guide, we have lights, we have standards. We must set these standards for ourselves, our society and our system and adjust human social, political, moral and educational movements based on this divine standard. Until the Day of Judgment, we have a war between right and wrong, we have a war between justice and injustice, we have a war between good and evil, we have to choose, we have to select, we must not be silent. God forbid we must not join the enemy. This movement is for these goals, the revival of the Ashura uprising is for this.”
He said, “The discussion we had in these ten nights in this honorable gathering and in this Hosseini gathering was about the fact that this movement is a global and human movement. The capacity for this movement, the power that lies in this movement is a universal truth. You may ask, how is that? There are located in specified era and in a specified area? There were certain people, they were cruel and oppressive people, in front of the righteous and righteous people. How it can be universality? We wanted to show that this movement has the capacity to be universal. we want to prove that the path of humanity, the path of rights and justice, the path of excellence and human development were alive in this movement for the world and all human beings.”
He stated, “In this last meeting that I am at your service, I would like to present a speech as one of the most precious teachings of the movement so we can have a better understanding of the universality and humanity of this movement. One of the issues that people always talk and think about is, what are the characteristics for the leader of the society? The leader of the society, the ruler of the society and in a religious sense, who should be the Imam of the society? Who is dignified and worthy to take the imamate of the society and the leadership of the people? Who deserves this? Let's hear from Hossein's movement, let's hear from Abi Abdullah's school that he swears upon his life,
«فَلَعَمْری ما الامامُ الّا الحاکمُ بالکتاب القائم بالقسط الدائن بدین الحقّ الحابس نَفْسَه علی ذاتِ الله»
If there were these four characteristics,-this is not only for Muslims, not only for Shiites, but for all the human beings, because if humanity wants to have a worthy leader, their leader must have these characteristics. This is limited to the land, the time, the nation. It is not just for this religion. This is a universal thought. This is a human thought.”
He said, “The first characteristic that a heavenly leader and guardian of society should have is to rule based on the divine book, which is nothing but the truth. There is no room for his own diagnosis, his own opinion! Even the Prophets, even the Prophet and the Imams are not allowed to rule the society based on their own opinion. «آمن الرسول بما انزل علیه من ربه» Allah has threatens the Prophet himself in the Qur'an. «وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِیلِ * لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِینِ * ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِینَ» If the prophet wants to add one word, even one word of his own in the religion, we will cut his heart’s vein. We will take him firmly, and cut his heart’s vein. «فلَعَمْری ما الامامُ الّا الحاکمُ بالکتاب» The Imam of the community, the leader of the community, the guardian of the community is a person who, first and last, begins and ends his rule based on the divine book”
He then stated, “The second characteristic is «القائم بالقسط». justice is one of the valuable gifts of Allah. Justice would not be reachable easy! Justice is one of the most difficult matters that rulers face. Hazrat says to stand for justice; Not only to be just but stand for justice. Can someone who is just be a ruler? No, he must stand for justice. May God protect my father, our noble father used to say that some position not only require justice, they also require to be standing for justice, even not to stand for justice but stand firm for justice.”
He stated, “The third characteristic of the Islamic ruler is «الدائن بدین الحق»; We must choose the right method. We must know the right of everything and act accordingly, no matter what. It is what Imam says«ألا ترون ان الحق لا یعمل به و ان الباطل لا یتناهی» Imam Hussain says: O people, O community, O Kufians, O all those who are in this relationship, who has the dignity to be the ruler of Islamic society? be the leader of the Islamic community? A dog-loving, impure man with no honorable family? should he be ruler? Or a person who is famous for justice and fairness? One who is famous for saying the truth, nothing but truth flows from his tongue and he does not rule except by justice? This should be your imam. If Abi Abdullah said, "I am more worthy of this matter of government”, it is because he is sitting in the position of truth, and his righteousness make the right for governing over people for him.”
Professor Morteza Javadi Amoli then pointed to the fourth characteristic of an Islamic ruler and said, “The fourth characteristic is « الحابس نَفْسَه علی ذاتِ الله»; This characteristic is the best characteristic of Islamic ruler. The person who wants to be the leader of a society, the leader of a society and the guardian of an ummah and society, must be someone who surrender his whole existence to the divine essence. Do not go out of the divine will for a moment. He should make God's will and providence his own will «رضی الله رضانا اهل البیت» If Almighty Allah willed that we should be killed like this, our bodies this, our heads this, our families this, we accept and have accepted. «الحابس نفسه علی ذات الله» This is the meaning of the truth. Allah considers these people worthy of Imamate and leadership.”
